Medical Trip to China

12th October - 26th October 2008

Hong Kong – Macau – GuangXi Nanning

Each year, the AcuMedic Foundation organises a CMIR medical trip to China to continue the Beijing University of Chinese Medicines' work in bridging the gap between East/West healthcare.  The trip offers Western doctors the opportunity to experience medicine as practiced in Chinese hospitals as well as presenting a unique occasion to sample Chinese life on both a professional and personal level.

Doctors, their spouses and their family are all welcome, as free time will be spent feasting, sightseeing and relaxing.

Some of the sights that you will visit

Hong Kong is an island at the mouth of the Pearl River, on the south eastern coast of China. She was described as a 'barren rock' over 150 years ago and has become a world-class financial trading and business centre, as well as one of the world's most popular tourist destinations, a true economic powerhouse and, indeed, a great world city.

The ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral in Macau are one of Macau's most famous landmarks. In 2005, they were officially enlisted as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A-Ma Temple

Eye-catching tiles in swirling waves floor the Largo do Senado (Senate Square), which provides the city's focal point and is the start of most people's exploration of
Macau.

Medicinal Herb Botanical Garden is one of the biggest medicinal herb gardens in China, with a total plantation of over 2,100 kinds. The garden is divided into five sections of GuangXi special herbs, woody plants, animal for medical use, and the herbs ranged according to their curative effects and medicinal function. This garden of medicinal herbs and blooming flowers is open to visitors and also used for scientific research, teaching and providing medicine.
