The Tao Nutrition presents the wisdom of the ancient Chinese who were very much in tune with their bodies and their environment.
They lived by the principle of being in harmony with Nature and maintained balance in every aspect of life, especially diet.
Their knowledge and experiences were preserved through generations and further refined into what we know today as Chinese nutrition.
This is both a healing system and a disease prevention system. The advantage of Chinese nutrition lies in its flexibility in adapting to every individual\'s needs in the prevention of disease, and treatment of the whole person.
Each meal is an opportunity to heal. The Tao of Nurtrition provides information on making every meal therapeutic, teaching you how to make appropriate food choices for your aliments, your constitution, and the season of the year. Whether you are trying to become healthy or stay healthy, the authors guide you to a balanced way of eating. Included are deliciouse recipes and meal plans that have greatly benefited patients and families. This ancient knowledge from China provides guidence for the seasoned practitioner as well as the new student of healthy living.
Chinese nutrition uniquely differs from modern Western nutrition in that it determines the energies and therapeutic properties of, foods instead of analyzind the chemicalconstituents of them, for example:
- Eggplant, by being cooling and reducing swelling, can help canker sores when charcoaled eggplant is applied to the open sore daily.
- Potato, a stomach harmonizer, can relieve stomach ulcer by taking two tablespoons of potato juice on an empty stomach.
- Apples, a natural lubricant, can relieve constipation when eaten fresh or juice is drunk on an empty stomach each morning. Apples can also relieve dirrhea when taken in a dry powdered form.
- incorporating millet as a staple can help morning sickness and vomiting, through its soothing quality.
Furthermore, Chinese nutrition takes into consideration such factors as method of preparation, body type, season, and one\'s geographical location in determining the appropriate diet.
It is hoped that the readers of \'The Tao of Nutrition\' will benefit by gaining insight, understandin, and awareness into their body and their surroundings through their diet.
This book gives you the opportunity to be the master of your own body. So start now to better yourself and others by achieving health, happiness, and longevity.
