The 'Synopsis' consists of twenty-two chapters. Chapter One id devoted to etiology, while Chapter Two to Twenty-two are specific studies of such syndrome complexes as malaria, apoplexy, arthritis, pulmonary asthenia and abscess, heart disease, edema, diabetes jaundice, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, acute abdominal diseases, and gynecological diseases.

In addition to the complete translation of the original text, the book also includes a collectional annotations, notes and explanations with appendices of pulses, prescriptions and an index of TCM terms.
