In this book, Bob surveys both the Chinese textbook literature on female infertility as well as the modern Chinese Journal literature on this condition. In the chapter on the treatment according to pattern diagnosis, Bob has compiled the largest selection of herbal formulas for the treatment of infertility of any book on this subject in English. In the subsequent chapters, he discusses the TCM treatment of the various Western diseases associated with infertility, such as:

Fallopian Tube Blockage Uterine Myoma
Endocrine Imbalances Luteal Phase Defect
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Endometriosis

Bob also discusses modern Chinese protocols based on kidney supplementation, the multiphasic approach to formula writing, the use of the basal body temperature in TCM diagnosis and treatment planning, and the use of external and adjunctive therapies, such as plasters and enamas. Further, her introduces the role of candidiasis in the treatment of the above Western diseases and female infertility and concludes by discussing some of the special difficulties of treating this condition with TCM in the West. Thus this book is an indispensible addition to the clinical library of any practioner treating women for infertility.

It is the most complete discussion of Chinese medicine on this subject available in English. It includes the TCM treatment for various Western diseases associated with infertility, including female immunologic infertility, fallopian tube blockage, endocrine imbalances, polycystic ovarian syndrome, uterine myoma, luteal phase defect, anovulation, and endometriosis.
